A few (kind of blurry - taken from iPhone) pics of the announcement :)

Here's Scott, realizing just how long the line really is.

Reverse shot of the line. It snaked all the way into the Westin lobby.

At first, we thought all these people couldn't possibly be here for the Privateer presentation. Then we saw these costumes, and realized they were.

Here's GenCon event staff telling us we have way too many people here, and the Privateer guys assuring them we really do have a plan to manage the crowd

Scott (blurry) and Matt Wilson on stage for the presentation.

Part of the audience from the second presentation (we decided at the last moment to shorten it and split it into two, so everybody could get in)

Talking with some of the Warmachine fans outside after the presentation. Lots of good conversations. Love this Caine costume!

No problem. I didn't take the photos; they were taken by our friend Jason (not Jason from the podcast, a different one) known as legalgun on most forums.

Here are a few shots of the Warmachine Hardcore tournament at GenCon...

If I remember right, this was the guy who ultimately won that night.

The Hardcore winner was actually a Skorne player, Jason Watt (Watts? something) using Epic Morghoul. I'm not sure who the fella is with the beard.

That game does look fun and time consuming for everyone involved. :) Nice pictures kmack. I still wish my wife would have wanted to go to indy that weekend instead of chicago.

larger battles can take a good while to finish but the average game is usually about 20-45minutes. Really depends on how well the players know the game and thier armies. It is definately a time consuming hobby once you delve into the modeling and painting aspects of it as well but its definately rewarding :)

I really dont enjoy games over 750pts, I would much rather play several smaller games than a 1000pt game. Fortunately the guys in my club feel the same.

The funny thing is you will end up spending more time on every other part of the hobby than you will on actually playing it, assuming you paint etc. For example for me I would spend an hour+ to assemble a big model, many hours painting it, several hours making lists to use it in, play a few games with it at upto 45 mins each and then chat about the Warmachine for several more hours either while at the pub or then go to the pub. Rinse and repeat :D

I am sure there are alot of people that dont paint etc but that to me is 1/3rd of the fun, playing being 1/3rd and chatting at the pub being the other 1/3rd.

How that will be worked into the video game is anyones guess

A good multiplayer lobby will do the trick, maybe something in the game that lets players rate you on your sportsmanship/friendliness. Getting good recommendations from people could unlock avatar items on the xbox, maybe new paint schemes or armor doodads for your warcaster or cool little things to distinguish the nice people from the crowd... which would be incentive for people to be nice to each other.
