I was thinking that as a way to let people who don't play Warmachine or Hordes to get into the world setting maybe setting up a codex system similar to Mass Effect or Dragon Age.
Just throw them to players as they progress or have them be something they can find. They don't have to be limited to character backgrounds but things such as historical events and information on the factions at hand.
