After more reading on Warmachines. What do you all think about custom layouts from other users on the PC? Design your own battlefield and stuff like that?
Not sure how that would go about, but what kind of layout if you had to create them would you do it for in game?

Can you elaborate on that?
I understand you mean create a battlefield, but do you mean for multiplayer value? or create your own campaign scenario?

Given that a large portion of the appeal of warmachine is in the construction of a gaming table/terrain I would feel SORELY dissapointed if the PC/console version was not released with mapping/Modding tools.
As CoD:MW2 proved, the PC gaming community loves having the ability to generate user created content.
If you look at the sales numbers for that title almost 80% of its total sales were x-box360, less than 7% total sales for the game were PC. This was almost exclusively due to the lack of player created content as well as the inablity for player to host dedicated servers.
If a WARMACHINE Title is going to have any sort of multiplayer is needs to have
1) Editing tools for levels/maps/terrain/gametypes.
2) army customization. ("painting")
Without those a large portion of table top warmachine fans might skip the title completely, while others may play it briefly with the note of "it lacks customization options"

If my game store's any indication, everyone will just play the "two forests, two hills" map anyway. ;)

Why is this :)

It's easy. It gives a fair combination of defensive and negative terrain buffs.
The Hills give a defensive buff while standing on top of it and also allows you to see over models.
The forest gives a limited LOS along with Concealment, and also give rough terrain, which halves your movement, for figures that don't have the Pathfinder skill.

I was half joking, but I see that variant a lot for some reason. Guess it provides for a good, balanced, symmetrical playing field. Both halves get forests, both halves get a hill.
Not as visually interesting, admittedly. It's like playing Final Destination in Smash Bros.

While it would not specifically effect my choice in purchasing (which is a given), I would get a lot more out of the game if it had even a rudimentary map builder - place mountain here, forest there, river across that corner, etc
Though from an objective perspective, I agree with Skyydragonn's suggestions of moderate to high level editing tools and army "painting" (though I can appreciate the work this would require for the in game models)
First post - Yay me :D
